A poor orphan's dream of luxuries and a mother's love, which eventually becomes a reality

A Blue Ribbon winner at the American Film Festival, this hard-hitting, dramatic production is about the relationship between a young man with AIDS and his estranged mother. Unable to understand or accept each other's lives, mother and son are at a stalemate of their own making.

In the heart of rural Somalia, widowed mother Qalifo and her son, Asad, labor as camel herders. However, Asad has his heart set on a life in town with Ifrah, the girl of his dreams. When a young American visitor declares his love for Ifrah, the rivalry leads to murder, and Qalifo weighs in with a shocking choice that transforms all of their lives.

Dramatisation of the novel of the same name written by Sindiwe Magona about Amy Biehl, an American journalist murdered in Cape Town in 1993, and the 2012 play based on it. Based on the intimate one-woman play staged by singer, actress and playwright, Thembi Mtshali, the film seeks an understanding from the mother as she explains the direct consequences of apartheid, which influenced her son's actions.

Zhenya Zhuravleva is a freelance police officer. She helps solve crimes thanks to an incredible ability: she has visionary dreams in places where someone has died. Captain Makarov, who attracted her to work in the police, believes that this is a great gift. Zhenya herself considers her ability to be a curse. Zhuravleva only has to figure out if this is true, and at the same time figure out herself, comprehend the reason for the appearance of this ability and understand that her whole life is not what it seems.
